Eric Gomez Ms. Lehmann English 2-2A 9 October 2019 My First Convention Back in 2016 when I was new to Cosplay, I was fascinated by the thought of going to a convention. I would watch YouTube videos from cons all around, from the U.S to Mexico. I even watched the videos of how to act and be prepared at your first convention. There is a con in California called AnimeExpo, and my child self really wanted to go. Sadly,I didn’t have the money to make a trip to California let alone all the other payments that cost way too much. I did some digging and found out there was a convention here in Idaho! A four-day con in Boise,Idaho called Anime Oasis. I planned and planned, calculating how much money I would need and how much would be spent. The tickets to be let in were fifty dollars. A hotel stay would be at least $200. Then the necessities!Food, gas, parking etc...Once I knew all the expenses, I asked my mom I showed her the website and all the pricings. “Let me think about it,” she told me. Eventually, she caved and agreed. It filled me with so much joy that finally, after a year, I could go to my first con. My wish was finallycoming true! 2017 convention, get ready for me! I got all my cosplays ready, ordered them online, and styled my wigs. To try and make more friends, I downloaded an app called cosplay amino. There, I met my(to this day) friend Logan! I wanted to host my very first panel,so I made an open group chat on the app saying “Ouran panel for Anime Oasis;panelists needed!” That’s when Logan joined, and we planned the whole panel ourselves, finding people to join, thinking of mini games to play.It was amazing! Finally, the day of the convention came! I woke up at 6:00 am.Got into costume, and put on makeup! It was a two-hour drive to Boise, and honestly, it did not feel like it! My stomach growled at me as we got closer and closer. My body shook. I smiled, seeing the building up ahead! When I walked up to the building, I spun in a Disney movie way as a fellow cosplayer looked at me and nodded, probably saying, “Welcome to your new life;Enjoy kid!” I waited anxiously for Logan to show up. We spent months talking to each other, planning the panel for the next day and becoming friends. When he finally arrived, I literally Naruto ran up to him and hugged him. After a few hours of hanging out, we found two people who werekind of lost. “Hey, do you guys want to join us?” we asked. “Sure, that would be fun!” they replied. We all hung out, and it was a blast! The next day came. My first panel ever! I got up early and got ready, getting to the convention at 9. Logan and I set up the room, and our fellow panelists arrived. Once the designated time came, the people piled in. Almost all the chairs in the room were filled. I was shaking, but excited. It was the most fun I have ever had! To this day, I still go to conventions. In fact, I have one this month in Utah. I still do panels and everything.I'm glad I decided to start going to them, I made so many new friends, and it’s a big part of my life now.

Please answer all questions in complete, grammatically correct sentences.
1. Explain the process you went through to write this paper. Please be specific. We brainstormed. We learned how to make our outline then went through the steps of what we needed to do for the narrative. We chose a story to use. 2. What qualifies this paper as a narrative? What are the requirements for this genre and how did you meet them? It qualifies as a narrative because I have, dialogue, show don’t tell, imagery, and it’s my own story, I went through the event myself. It’s my personal narrative.
3. What is one part of your story that you think turned out really well? What do you like about that part? I love the end because it’s showing that I ended up loving my decision!
